OUTER HARBOR LNG PROJECT

The world’s first floating LNG import terminal,
powered by 100% renewable energy.

After more than 6 years of planning and development; and continuing support from our investors; the Outer Harbor LNG Project is now shovel-ready. All regulatory approvals in are in place and construction is targeted for later in 2023.

The Project’s construction will create more than 350 construction jobs and around 100 new direct and indirect jobs following commissioning.

Outer Harbor, Port Adelaide, South Australia

  • Infrastructure-based tolling terminal
  • 2 new berths
  • 146 000m3 FSRU
  • Capable of injecting 386Tj per day throughput
  • Gas pipeline connection into the state’s gas network

Critical State Infrastructure

The Project was granted Crown Sponsorship by the South Australian Government in 2020.

In December 2021, we received environmental approval from the State Government, and the Project was designated as Critical State Infrastructure.

Venice Energy will operate the infrastructure using a tolling model, in which customers will source their own LNG and pay a fee to utilise the terminal facility.

The facility will regasify imported LNG and inject it into the South Australian and Victorian gas networks.

Transitioning to a zero-carbon economy

Venice Energy believes in the need to transition Australia to a zero-carbon economy.

The Project Is delivering on our commitment to this transition by:

  • ‘Future-proofing’ our facilities to blend hydrogen and LNG to further lower our carbon footprint.
